Hey everyone. With all these social networking sites out there, I’ve finally decided to take a leap and put some time into one. But which? Well there’s the obvious “myspace,” since everyones doing it. But there’s also facebook, hi5, linked in, etc. So, I’ve decided to create a quick page on a few of them and write up a review. Here’s my first stab:

ease of use flexibility/customization social network features notes url
myspace 8 6 8 pretty basic/easy to set up. Easy to upload photos. ability to add music to your page no auto add of buddies like facebook, must hack to truely customize. Felt more basic then other sites, not as much networking, more a basic self advertisement. http://www.myspace.com/totalworldsurfer
facebook 8 7 10 easy to add users on “networks” and via email accounts 34mil users, pain that you have to register before seeing any pages http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=833880031
linkedIn 7 6 7 good for finding jobs / work (or so it seems) all about career networking, keep your resume close at hand when signing up. Not easy to find users in related networks http://www.linkedin.com/in/paultman
hi5 http://totalworldsurfer.hi5.com

If you feel crazy enough to add me as a friend in any of those I’ve reviewed so far, add user with email address totalworldsurfer@yahoo.com (though don’t email me there, I get lots of spam and don’t always sort through all the messages)
